About Ashley

Fall is the season of comfort—cozy nights, gatherings with friends, and holiday prep just around the corner. But updating your home for the season doesn’t have to mean a full makeover or a big investment. With a few small, thoughtful changes, you can refresh your space and make it both practical and inviting for the months ahead.

1. Do a Quick Declutter Before Adding Decor

Before bringing in pumpkins, wreaths, or extra throws, take a few minutes to clear away summer clutter—sandals by the door, beach bags, or lightweight décor. A clean slate makes seasonal touches feel intentional rather than overwhelming.

2. Swap Out Lightweight Bedding

Trade crisp summer sheets for cozy layers. Flannel sheets, a quilt, or even just a heavier throw at the foot of the bed can instantly make your bedroom feel more seasonally appropriate and warmer for chilly nights.

3. Rotate Wardrobes and Entry Storage

As jackets and boots come out, your entryway needs to work harder. Add a boot tray, a basket for scarves and hats, and a durable rug. Rotate summer sandals into storage bins to keep your foyer looking tidy.

4. Add Scent and Warmth with Candles

Scents are one of the fastest ways to set a seasonal mood. Cinnamon, clove, cedarwood, or pumpkin spice candles (or even simmer pots with apple slices and cinnamon sticks) can transform the atmosphere in minutes.

5. Layer Rugs for Instant Warmth

If you have a sisal or jute rug from summer, try layering a smaller, cozier rug on top—think Persian-inspired patterns or fluffy shags. It’s a quick way to bring warmth and dimension without buying an entirely new rug.

6. Refresh Kitchen + Dining Spaces

Fall means more gatherings around the table. Swap out light linens for richer table runners, add a wooden bowl with seasonal produce (apples, squash, or mini pumpkins), and keep a basket of cozy throws nearby for chilly outdoor dinners.

7. Prepare for Entertaining

With the holidays approaching, now is the time to think about flow. Rearrange furniture to encourage conversation, check your dining seating, and add a few extra side tables or trays for drinks and snacks. A small shift can make hosting stress-free later.

"Ashley has such a gift in understanding and implementing beautiful designs. As someone who works full time, and is too busy and overwhelmed to run around looking at samples from store-to-store, Ashley just KNOWS what looks best. She takes all of that time-consuming guess-work out of the equation, which is so valuable to me."

"I appreciate Ashley's ability to work with both of us when there were competing views. I proposed an alternative after seeing an initial design and layout preferred by my spouse.  Ashley deftly incorporated the style I was seeking and was able to seamlessly intertwine it with an earlier design, keeping us both happy in the process."
